Obverse description The fourth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, as engraved by Ian Rank-Broadley, occupies the central field in right-facing effigy. The Queen is depicted wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, with fine detail rendered in the hair and drapery at the truncation. The legend ELIZABETH II • AUSTRALIA arcs around the upper periphery, separated by two raised dots, while the date 2014 and denomination 1 DOLLAR appear at the lower periphery. The engraver's initials IRB are incised at the base of the neck truncation. The proof finish presents a deeply mirrored field contrasting with the frosted relief of the effigy.
