Beschrijving keerzijde A pair of cupped hands extends from the lower right of the field, holding a vivid red pad-printed poppy rendered in full colour with a dark centre, symbolising remembrance. Behind the hands rises the silhouetted figure of a soldier standing at rest beside a cross, evoking a war grave. To the left of centre, the commemorative inscriptions LEST WE FORGET and April 25 are incused in the field. The Perth Mint's P mintmark appears to the upper left, and the design was created by artist P.J. Lynch.

Aanvullende informatie

The red pad-printed poppy on this dollar — a process more common in promotional merchandise than sovereign coinage — was first introduced by the Royal Australian Mint in 2012, making Australia one of the earliest mints globally to apply colour directly to a circulating coin. The technique uses a silicone transfer pad to deposit ink onto the struck surface, and longevity in circulation has always been a legitimate concern: worn examples routinely show fading or partial loss of the colour element.

The Lest We Forget dollar has been reissued across multiple years, with KM# variants distinguishing the different annual releases.
