Reverse description The reverse, designed by Wojciech Pietranik, pays tribute to Australian Army combat engineers. At right, a fully equipped modern combat engineer in battle dress is depicted in high relief, operating a mine-detection device over rocky terrain. In the centre-left field, a military bulldozer is rendered in finer detail against radiating lines suggesting sunlight. To the upper left, a ghostly silhouette of a digger raising a tool evokes the spirit of fallen engineers. The commemorative legend LEST WE FORGET and the date APRIL 25 are inscribed in the left field. The Perth Mint's P mintmark appears at left, and the engraver's initials WR are located in the lower right field.
