| 背面描述 | A pad-printed polychrome wombat is depicted in the centre field, shown emerging from beneath a hollow log rendered in relief, with native grass stalks visible to the right. The coloured wombat, rendered in naturalistic dark brown tones, stands on green ground cover, contrasting vividly with the golden aluminium-bronze field. The denomination 1 DOLLAR is inscribed in large bold lettering across the upper portion of the reverse field. |

The Land Series was introduced by the Royal Australian Mint to replace the rotating commemorative dollar program, grouping annual releases around a thematic framework tied to Australian fauna and environment. The wombat issue appeared as broader public interest in native wildlife coinage was peaking, partly driven by the success of earlier animal-themed circulation strikes. Pad printing — the process that deposits the color field onto the coin's surface — was still relatively novel in Australian coinage at this point, and the RAM was among the earliest mints globally to apply it to a circulation-quality dollar.
