Reverse description The reverse depicts King Théoden of Rohan, clad in full plate armour and a crested helmet, shown astride his horse in a commanding pose with his arm extended forward as he rallies his troops for battle, evoking the charge at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields from J.R.R. Tolkien's 'The Lord of the Rings.' Surrounding warriors in armour and shields populate the deeply sculpted field, with war banners visible in the background. The denomination '$1' appears in the lower centre of the field, and the copyright mark 'NLP Inc.' is inscribed at the lower right. The design is rendered in bold high relief with a cinematic, narrative quality characteristic of the New Zealand Lord of the Rings commemorative series.
