The Invictus Games — founded by Prince Harry in 2014 after he witnessed the Warrior Games in the United States — reached Sydney in October 2018, the first time the event had been held in the Southern Hemisphere. The Royal Australian Mint used pad printing to apply colour to this circulation issue, a process that allows precise chromatic detail without the tooling cost of full enamel work. The technique had become a minor specialty of the RAM by this period.
