Obverse description The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted in right-facing profile with a jewelled tiara and curled hair. The engraver's initials IRB appear below the truncation of the neck. The circular legend reads ELIZABETH II to the upper left and AUSTRALIA to the upper right, with the denomination 1 DOLLAR inscribed along the lower rim. Two small raised dots flank the legend at the lower field.
