Obverse description The fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, is depicted in right-facing profile at centre, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The surrounding legend reads ELIZABETH II · AUSTRALIA 2006 · with the denomination 1 DOLLAR inscribed along the lower arc. The engraver's initials IRB appear beneath the truncation of the neck. The proof finish presents a deeply mirrored field contrasting with the frosted relief of the portrait.
