| Obverse description | Crowned right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, rendered in the fourth portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, occupying the central field. The Queen wears the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The engraver's initials IRB appear below the truncation. The surrounding legend reads ELIZABETH II to the upper left and AUSTRALIA to the upper right, with the denomination 1 DOLLAR inscribed along the lower arc. A fine beaded border frames the entire obverse. |
