Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, as sculpted by Ian Rank-Broadley for her fourth portrait on Commonwealth coinage. The legend NEW ZEALAND arcs along the lower left periphery, with .999 Ag 1oz inscribed along the upper arc and ELIZABETH II along the right. The date 2018 appears in the lower exergue, and the engraver's initials IRB are incused beneath the portrait. The frosted relief of the effigy contrasts sharply against the mirror-polished field, characteristic of proof coinage.
