Obverse description The fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, occupies the central field in right-facing truncated portrait, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The engraver's initials 'IRB' appear incuse below the neck truncation. The peripheral legend 'ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA' arcs around the upper field, separated by a continuous inner ring of raised beads, while the denomination '1 DOLLAR' is inscribed along the lower arc. The design is executed in high relief against a mirror-polished field, characteristic of bullion and commemorative issues from the Perth Mint.
