Reverse description A kookaburra (Dacelo novaeguineae) perched facing left upon a nearly horizontal eucalyptus branch adorned with eighteen leaves extending to the left. A small privy mark inscribed OCTO VIII denoting the month of October appears below the branch. The legend THE AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA arcs along the upper periphery, while the inscriptions 1 OZ. 999 SILVER and the date 2000, flanked by raised dots, appear along the lower periphery. The design occupies a plain field with no inner border.
