Obverse description The fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, dominates the central field in right-facing profile. The Queen is depicted with a diadem crown and delicately rendered hair, with the engraver's initials 'IRB' incused below the truncation. The surrounding legend reads 'ELIZABETH II' to the upper left and 'AUSTRALIA' to the upper right, separated by a beaded inner border, with the denomination '1 DOLLAR' inscribed along the lower arc. The design is set against a frosted field with a polished rim.
