| 正面描述 | The fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted in right-facing profile wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The truncation of the bust is clearly defined, and the engraver's initials IRB appear below. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left field, while AUSTRALIA and the date 2018 run along the right periphery, all rendered in raised Latin capital letters. |

Australia lost around 62,000 killed in the First World War — the highest per-capita death rate of any Allied nation. The centenary of the November 1918 Armistice prompted a wave of commemorative issues across Commonwealth mints, and the Royal Australian Mint produced this dollar for general circulation rather than as a collector-only release, a deliberate choice ensuring the coin would pass through ordinary hands. The ANZAC centenary program had already run for several years by this point, beginning with Gallipoli in 2015.
