The Alphabet Collection was issued by the Royal Australian Mint across 2015–2017, producing twenty-six circulating dollar coins, each pad-printed with a letter and an associated animal. Pad printing on circulating coinage is mechanically awkward — the ink sits proud of the metal and wears rapidly, making uncirculated survivors far more representative of the original issued appearance than anything pulled from a cash register drawer.
