Issued to mark the All Blacks' third Rugby World Cup title, won in England in October 2015 — the first nation to successfully defend the championship. New Zealand struck this piece through the New Zealand Mint under Reserve Bank authority, a production arrangement that keeps sovereign coinage legal tender while outsourcing the actual minting to a private facility.
The silver weight pegs it to the standard one-troy-ounce collector format, priced well above face value from issue. Genuine circulation was never the point.
