| Reverse description | The reverse features a pad-printed coloured depiction of a Major Mitchell's Cockatoo (Lophochroa leadbeateri) in close-up portrait, occupying the left portion of the field. The bird is rendered in naturalistic polychrome colours, showing its distinctive salmon-pink plumage, white upper body, and erect multicoloured crest of white, red, and yellow feathers tipped in grey-blue. To the right of the cockatoo, a branch bearing elongated eucalyptus seed pods is rendered in raised relief in the coin's native aluminium bronze. The denomination '1 Dollar' appears in two lines to the right of centre in raised lettering. This design forms part of the Royal Australian Mint's Air Series, celebrating Australia's native avifauna. |
