Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, as rendered in Ian Rank-Broadley's fourth definitive portrait. The queen's hair is elaborately styled and the effigy is unclothed at the shoulder. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left rim, AUSTRALIA 2009 arcs along the right rim, and the engraver's initials IRB appear in small letters below the portrait truncation.
