| 背面描述 | The central field features a large, detailed depiction of a World War II-era fighter aircraft — identifiable as a Supermarine Spitfire — in the foreground, viewed from a slightly elevated angle, with a formation of numerous Allied aircraft receding into the background above a stylised globe motif evoking the breadth of the D-Day operation. The denomination 1 DOLLAR appears at the upper right, while the commemorative legend 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF D-DAY is inscribed in bold lettering across the lower field. A small kangaroo privy mark appears at the lower centre, and the engraver's initials BK are present in the field. The overall design by Bronwyn King conveys the scale and historic significance of the 6 June 1944 Normandy landings. |

The 75th anniversary of the Normandy landings in June 2019 drew commemorations from governments across the Commonwealth, and Australia's participation reflected the roughly 3,000 Australian personnel — predominantly from the Royal Australian Air Force — who served in operations connected to the D-Day campaign. Australian ground forces were not among the beach assault troops on June 6, 1944, a distinction that sometimes goes unacknowledged in broader Allied commemorations.
