Issued to mark Australia's team at the London 2012 Olympics, this piece is one of a four-coin series built around the traditional athletic ideals — Faster, Higher, Stronger — with a fourth coin added for the team itself. The Perth Mint released the set through its collector programs rather than general circulation channels, which is why examples tend to surface in near-pristine condition despite the aluminium bronze composition being prone to contact marks in handling.
