Obverse description Right-facing uncrowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, based on the portrait by Susan Taylor, occupying the central field. The Queen is depicted with her hair pinned up, wearing a pearl necklace, in a mature and dignified rendering. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left rim and D·G·REGINA along the right rim, both in raised Latin characters. A beaded border encircles the design. The Royal Canadian Mint privy mark appears below the portrait near the lower rim.
