Obverse lettering ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA 1995 RDM
Reverse description A stylised depiction of the Jolly Swagman, the central figure from A.B. 'Banjo' Paterson's celebrated 1895 ballad Waltzing Matilda, shown striding across the field bearing a swag over his shoulder and a walking stick in hand, dressed in the rough attire characteristic of a late nineteenth-century itinerant worker. The centenary dates 1895–1995 flank the design, commemorating the song's hundredth anniversary. The denomination DOLLAR appears along the upper arc, with the title Waltzing Matilda and the attribution VG A.B. 'BANJO' PATERSON inscribed within the legend. The composition is executed in a bold, graphic artistic style befitting a commemorative proof issue.
