Reverse description A common loon in dynamic landing posture dominates the center of the reverse, wings outstretched and feet skimming the water's surface, rendered in finely detailed relief by engraver Cosme Saffioti. To the lower right, the official 2008 Beijing Olympics logo — comprising the multicolored Olympic rings beneath a red maple leaf with a stylized flame — is applied in vivid pad-printed color. The legend CANADA arcs across the upper field, with the date 2008 to the left and the denomination DOLLAR inscribed along the lower rim, all in raised Latin lettering.
