The Bahamas gained full independence in July 1973, and this note — issued the following year under the new Central Bank established by the Central Bank of the Bahamas Act 1974 — was among the first instruments of the newly sovereign institution. De La Rue had printed Bahamian currency through the colonial period as well, so the technical relationship was uninterrupted even as the political one changed entirely.
Three signature varieties are documented for Pick 35, reflecting staff transitions in the bank's early years. The distinction between Donaldson's single-letter and fractional serial number prefix variants adds a layer of collection interest that the signature line alone doesn't reveal.
