| 备注 |
Eastman Business College, founded by Harvey G. Eastman in Poughkeepsie in 1859, was one of the most prominent commercial colleges in nineteenth-century America — at its peak claiming the largest enrollment of any business school in the world. These scrip notes were issued as part of the college's practical curriculum, giving students hands-on experience with banking transactions, ledger work, and currency handling. The notes circulated internally, redeemable only within the college's simulated business environment.
The E. White signature likely refers to a faculty officer or appointed student cashier rather than a principal of the institution — a rotating role that varied by term.
