Part of Singapore's long-running orchid bullion series, this issue features the Dendrobium leonis, a native species found across Singapore, Peninsular Malaysia, and Borneo. The orchid series has run in various forms since the 1990s and reflects Singapore's national flower designation — the hybrid Vanda Miss Joaquim — though individual issues frequently spotlight lesser-known native species rather than the familiar hybrid.
