The 2005 Coronation dollar commemorates the installation of Singapore's third President, S R Nathan, for his second term — though "coronation" is a curiously monarchical word for a republic that abolished its ceremonial presidency's electoral process in 1999, making Nathan the sole candidate both times he took office.
