Obverse description A bold heraldic eagle with wings displayed and elevated occupies the central field, its talons clutching the coat of arms of the Republic of Liberia, which features a sailing ship, a dove, and a palm tree. The legend GREATEST GENERATION curves along the upper periphery in raised serif lettering, while the denomination ONE DOLLAR is inscribed along the lower periphery. The date 2024 appears in the lower central field beneath the eagle. The motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE and REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA are incorporated into the overall design in reference to the Liberian national motto.

Additional information

The Civil Rights Act referenced here is the U.S. legislation of 1964 — a deliberate nod to Liberia's founding connection to the American Colonization Society and the repatriation of freed Black Americans beginning in the 1820s. That historical link has made American civil rights milestones a recurring subject for Liberian commemorative issues aimed squarely at the collector market.

At 38 grams in aluminium brass, this is a heavy coin for its composition — almost certainly a large-format collector piece rather than anything intended for circulation.
