| Reverse description | A vivid color-printed green snake, symbolising the Year of the Snake in the Chinese lunar calendar, coils dramatically around a large tropical leaf on a wooden branch at centre. The serpent's iridescent scales are rendered in shades of green and yellow against an engraved background depicting a classical Chinese pavilion, rocky landscape, and distant mountains in frosted relief. The upper right field is rendered in deep black against which the Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark appears in the upper right corner, while the designer's initials 'LB' are inscribed at the lower centre. The overall composition is designed as the second of four quadrant pieces that together form a complete circular design. |
