Obverse description The Public Seal of Niue is depicted at centre, consisting of a circular heraldic device surmounted by a royal crown and flanked by a decorative wreath of diamond-shaped motifs. Below the seal, two crossed ceremonial paddles rest on a ribbon scroll bearing the inscriptions ATUA and NIUE TUKULAGI. The denomination ONE DOLLAR arcs across the upper field, with the date 2026 to the lower left and the fineness mark Ag 999 to the lower right. The entire composition is framed by a deeply sculptured relief of tree bark, with pine cones and acorns rendered in high relief at the lower portion of the field. A mint mark appears at the lower centre.

Reverse description The reverse presents a richly coloured and high-relief scene inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale Thumbelina, framed by a sculptured tree-bark border with pine cones and acorns in the lower exergue. At left, a large anthropomorphic field mouse wearing a pink apron is depicted seated and sorting seeds from a sack into a wicker basket filled with nuts, set before a glowing stone hearth with mushrooms drying overhead. To the right, the diminutive figure of Thumbelina stands barefoot, clothed in a green dress and wrapped in a large autumn leaf used as a shawl, her eyes closed in a sorrowful expression. Hanging corn cobs and kitchen vessels adorn the background, evoking the underground winter dwelling of the field mouse. The scene is rendered in selective colour against an antiqued silver field, creating a striking storybook aesthetic.
