Te Kiwi Nui — "the great kiwi" in Māori — is the Royal Mint's name for the oversized kiwi series issued for New Zealand collectors. The 2026 date places this under Charles III, whose effigy replaced Elizabeth II across Commonwealth coinage following her death in September 2022. New Zealand was among the first jurisdictions to confirm the transition portrait, using the Jody Clark obverse already in widespread use across the Commonwealth rather than commissioning an independent design.
