| 背面描述 | Gold-plated proof depiction of a common loon (Gavia immer) swimming on a calm body of water, with a rocky, tree-lined shoreline visible in the middle distance to the upper left. The central device is rendered in meticulous detail, with fine feather texture on the bird's body highlighted by the proof finish. A beaded inner border encircles the design. The legend CANADA arcs across the upper field, while DOLLAR arcs along the lower field, with the date 2024 inscribed between them above the lower border. The engraver's initials RRC appear to the right of the loon in the field. |

Canada's dollar coin has carried the common loon since 1987, when artist Robert-Ralph Carmichael's design replaced the voyageur reverse that had been in use since 1935. Charles III's effigy appears here for the first time in this series following the September 2022 accession, with Susanna Blunt's portrait — originally created for circulation coinage in 2003 — adapted for collector issues. The .9999 fine silver specification places this above standard sterling, a purity tier the Royal Canadian Mint has aggressively marketed since achieving it at scale in the 1980s.
