| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays a highly detailed rendition of St. Edward's Crown in relief, faithfully reproducing the iconic regalia used at the coronation of King Charles III. The crown features an ornate jewelled circlet at its base decorated with alternating cross-pattée and fleur-de-lis motifs, interspersed with gem-set medallions. Rising from the circlet are four arches converging at a jewelled orb, surmounted by a cross-pattée set with pearls and gemstones. The entire design is executed with fine engraving detail emphasising the beaded borders and decorative elements of the historic crown. |

At 0.0311 grams, this is among the smallest gold coins in current production anywhere — a so-called "minigold" issue aimed squarely at the entry-level bullion collector rather than any monetary function. Tokelau, a New Zealand dependency of roughly 1,500 people with no ATMs and no domestic currency in practical use, has nonetheless maintained an active numismatic program for decades, issuing under New Zealand authority.
Charles III's accession in September 2022 triggered a wave of new obverse dies across all Commonwealth issuing territories.
