| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse depicts two Norwegian winter sports athletes in detailed high-relief: a cross-country skier in the foreground leaning forward in full stride, and a biathlete behind him with rifle slung across the back, both set against a stylized winter landscape of snow-covered slopes and coniferous trees. Converging diagonal ski tracks dominate the lower central field, adding depth and perspective to the composition. The Norwegian Olympic rings emblem appears centrally alongside the bold inscription 'NORGE'. The legend 'TEAM NORGE · LANGRENN / SKISKYTING' is inscribed along the lower rim, identifying the Norwegian national team disciplines of cross-country skiing and biathlon. |

Niue has operated as a prolific license issuer for commemorative coinage since the 1990s, contracting production to foreign mints while lending its legal tender status to series with no organic connection to the island's 1,600-person population. This piece belongs to that cottage industry — a gold-plated copper-nickel issue almost certainly produced in anticipation of the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, Cortina having last hosted the Winter Games in 1956.
