| Obverse description | The obverse features the Public Seal of Niue displayed prominently in the central field, rendered in fine detail within a circular cartouche surmounted by a royal crown. Surrounding the central seal, silhouetted figures of winter sports athletes — cross-country skiers and a biathlete — are depicted in dynamic poses against a decorative background of scattered snowflakes and subtle landscape outlines. The curved legend 'ONE DOLLAR' arcs across the upper field in bold relief lettering. The inscriptions 'ATUA' and 'NIUE TUKULAGI' appear beneath the seal, and the date '2026' is positioned prominently in the lower field. |

| Additional information |
Niue has operated as a prolific license issuer for commemorative coinage since the 1990s, contracting production to foreign mints while lending its legal tender status to series with no organic connection to the island's 1,600-person population. This piece belongs to that cottage industry — a gold-plated copper-nickel issue almost certainly produced in anticipation of the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, Cortina having last hosted the Winter Games in 1956.
