Obverse description The obverse features the Public Seal of Niue prominently displayed at center within a deeply sculpted, spiraling vortex composition evoking gravitational distortion around a black hole. The seal, surmounted by a royal crown, bears the circular legend PUBLIC SEAL OF NIUE, with a scroll beneath inscribed ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI. A stylized spacecraft is depicted in the upper left field, rendered in high relief as though being drawn into the spiraling concentric rings that dominate the design. The date 2023 and denomination 1 DOLLAR appear in the lower left field, integrated into the dynamic swirling motif. The Czech Mint mark CM appears in the upper right area of the design.

Reverse description The reverse presents a dramatic, colorized depiction of a black hole accretion disk rendered in vivid red, orange, and yellow enamel color application, with swirling arms of superheated matter spiraling around a central polished convex dome representing the event horizon. The background field is struck in an antique-finished silver with engraved orbital lines and four four-pointed star motifs positioned at cardinal points around the field, along with two spherical celestial bodies in relief. The inscription BLACK HOLE appears in raised Latin lettering along the lower periphery of the design field.
