Franklin's inclusion in Australia's colored commemorative dollar series reflects the Perth Mint's ongoing licensing agreements with American estates and rights holders — a commercial arrangement that has nothing to do with Australian cultural history. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 as its first female inductee, and the U.S. Treasury honored her with a Forever stamp in 2023.
