| Obverse description | Uncrowned effigy of King Charles III facing left, modelled by engraver Dominic Dobrescu and designated as the first Australian portrait of the monarch. The bare-headed bust is rendered in high relief against a finely granulated field. The legend CHARLES III arcs along the upper left periphery and AUSTRALIA along the upper right, while the denomination 1 DOLLAR curves along the lower rim, all separated by small dot stops. The initials DT appear in small lettering at the truncation of the bust. |
