| 背面描述 | A stylised, vibrantly coloured depiction of a kiwi bird with its long bill raised upward dominates the central field, rendered in rich brown tones with finely engraved feather detail. Sweeping green and olive foliage forms a dynamic background in the lower left, while a deep navy blue field occupies the right side, adorned with delicate incised koru spiral motifs evoking Māori artistic tradition. In the upper portion, a large circular form rendered in magenta and white displays a traditional Māori pōhutukawa or decorative device at its centre, adding bold chromatic contrast. The legend TE KIWI NUI curves along the upper left periphery, and ONE DOLLAR appears vertically at the lower right border. The entire design is applied in full colour over a proof-finish silver field. |

New Zealand's "Te Kiwi Nui" program draws on Māori nomenclature — the name translates roughly as "the great kiwi" — and represents one of the Reserve Bank's recurring collector series built around the North Island brown kiwi, a species listed as vulnerable under New Zealand's conservation threat classification system. Charles III's first portrait on New Zealand coinage, sculpted by Martin Jennings, replaced the long-running Maklouf effigy used since 1985.
