| Beschrijving voorzijde | Uncrowned, high-relief effigy of King Charles III facing left, after the first official coinage portrait by sculptor Steven J. Feherty, whose initials SJF appear below the truncation. The legend CHARLES III arcs along the upper left rim and NEW ZEALAND along the upper right, presented in a naturalistic contemporary style consistent with the inaugural Commonwealth effigy. The fineness and weight inscription .999 Ag 1oz flanks the portrait in the lower field, with the date 2023 at lower right. The portrait conveys the King without regalia or crown, in keeping with the modern aesthetic adopted across Commonwealth realm coinage. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central full-colour photographic portrait of Queen Elizabeth II in her later years, depicted smiling warmly while wearing a vibrant purple hat and coordinating ensemble and holding a bouquet of flowers. The coloured image is framed within an engraved quilted lattice field rendered in mirror proof finish. The birth and death years 1926 and 2022 appear to the upper left and upper right of the portrait respectively, while the crowned royal cypher E is positioned to the left of the portrait and the denomination $1 to the right. The memorial legend QUEEN ELIZABETH II is inscribed in raised lettering along the lower rim. |
