Part of the Royal Australian Mint's ongoing "Lest We Forget" dollar series, this release marks the centenary commemorations surrounding the lead-up to the end of World War I. The "Preparing for Peace" theme references the diplomatic and logistical groundwork — particularly the Paris Peace Conference negotiations — that preceded the formal cessation of hostilities, a period often overshadowed by Armistice Day itself.
Charles III's first portrait on Australian coinage, sculpted by Benedikt Friis, was introduced following the King's accession in September 2022.
