Aanvullende informatie

The "Dollarbucks" series began as a Royal Australian Mint initiative to produce colourised circulating dollars with novelty themes aimed squarely at younger collectors. "The Grannies" entry in this run uses pad printing — a process borrowed from industrial product decoration — applied directly over the struck aluminium bronze blank, a technique the RAM has refined over the past decade to survive the abuse of pocket change better than earlier lacquer-based colour methods.
