The date and specifications 2025 1 oz 9999 SILVER are inscribed vertically along the left inner field, and the Perth Mint's P mintmark appears at lower left. The Australian Kookaburra series has run since 1990, making it one of the longest-running bullion programs to change its reverse design annually — a deliberate strategy to encourage year-on-year collector buying rather than treating the coin as a generic silver vehicle. The colored variant is a collector-tier finish applied post-strike at the Perth Mint, which has offered selectively painted issues since the late 1990s to extract premium pricing from the same dies.
Charles III's first portrait, by Australian sculptor Jody Clark, appeared on Perth Mint issues beginning with the 2023 series following the September 2022 accession.
