| 正面描述 | Uncrowned effigy of King Charles III facing left, rendered in high relief, as sculpted by Dominic Tree — the first official portrait of the King used on Australian coinage. The legend CHARLES III arcs across the upper field, with AUSTRALIA continuing along the right periphery. The denomination 1 DOLLAR is inscribed along the lower arc, flanked by two raised dots. The engraver's initials DT appear incuse at the base of the portrait, just above the lower legend. |

The Perth Mint's annual silver kangaroo series has been running since 1993, and the 2024 issue marks one of the first Australian coins to carry Charles III's effigy under the "1st Portrait" designation — Jody Clark's likeness, originally commissioned for the Royal Mint in 2015 and subsequently adopted across Commonwealth mints. Australia's transition away from the Elizabeth II portrait was slower than some realms, making early Charles III issues from Perth part of a compressed transitional window that future date-set collectors will almost certainly exploit.
