| Obverse description | Uncrowned right-facing effigy of King Charles III, rendered in high relief with naturalistic detail showing the King in civilian dress with collar and tie. The portrait is the first official Australian coinage effigy of Charles III, sculpted by Dominic Tassell. The legend 'CHARLES III' arcs along the upper left periphery and 'AUSTRALIA 2026' arcs along the upper right, separated by a raised dot. The engraver's initials 'DT' appear in small relief at the lower right of the portrait, within the field. |
