| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of the Republic of Palau occupies the central field, depicting a traditional scene with a warrior and two mermaids within an ornate shield, surmounted by a native outrigger canoe. The legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper periphery, with eight six-pointed stars flanking the shield on either side. The inscription RAINBOWS END appears on a scroll within the lower portion of the shield, and the denomination 1$ is struck in the lower field below the coat of arms. |
