Описание аверса	The arms of the Republic of Sierra Leone are rendered in high relief at the centre of the obverse, flanked by two rampant lions serving as supporters, with two palm trees rising above a shield depicting a lion and an eagle. A scroll below the shield bears the national motto in the legend: UNITY FREEDOM JUSTICE. The curved legend REPUBLIC OF SIERRA LEONE arcs along the upper periphery, and the date 2023 appears in the lower field. The Pobjoy Mint mark (PM) is present to the lower left of the arms.

Whether these coins ever circulated meaningfully in Sierra Leone is another question entirely; the series is aimed squarely at the collector market, with domestic monetary use essentially nominal. The African buffalo is notoriously the most dangerous of the Big Five to hunters — responsible for more fatalities than lion or leopard.
