备注

The Bank of Quincy was a Michigan territorial bank chartered in the 1830s, operating during the wildcat banking period when hundreds of poorly capitalized institutions issued notes far exceeding their specie reserves. Michigan's 1837 General Banking Law briefly opened the floodgates before the state moved to shut down insolvent institutions — many of which had strategically placed their redemption offices in remote locations to discourage note holders from ever collecting. Whether the Bank of Quincy was among the more solvent operators or one of the more cynical ones remains a matter of the historical record for that specific charter.
