正面描述 Four military portrait vignettes occupy the corners, with a central columned mansion vignette at top and a small bust of Washington in an oval medallion at centre-bottom. Numeral counters "1" appear in guilloche rosettes at left and right. The note is printed mirror-reversed, consistent with a thin-paper replica printed through from the reverse.

背面描述 Reverse is blank, with the obverse design visible in faint show-through owing to the thin antiqued paper stock used for this replica.

备注

The Bank of Montgomery County, chartered in Norristown, Pennsylvania, was one of dozens of state-chartered institutions issuing their own currency during the era of "free banking" that defined American finance before the National Banking Acts of 1863–64 effectively killed off the obsolete note. These Pennsylvania county bank notes circulated locally, were subject to discounting when spent any distance from home, and were frequently counterfeited — Montgomery County notes appear in contemporary counterfeit detector lists of the 1850s.

The antiqued paper composition on this example is a reproduction or novelty piece, not an original issue.
