Obverse description The State of Arkansas coat of arms appears at the left, with the denomination ONE inscribed both above and below the vignette. A central portrait, identified as Governor Jefferson 'Jeff' Davis, occupies the middle of the note, flanked on each side by the numeral 1 in large counters. The overall layout is typical of mid-nineteenth-century American letterpress printing, with text panels carrying the warrant obligation above and below the central design.
